The Department of Biomedical Engineering, in collaboration with BMESI of Muthayammal Engineering College, successfully conducted a workshop on “Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training.”
The session was led by Mr. A. Jaffar Sadik, Director of IQTS-Institute of Quality Technical Safety Management, Salem. He delivered a comprehensive presentation on patient safety, fire safety, fire-fighting methods and essential cardiopulmonary procedures. The program highlighted the significance of prompt intervention during emergencies such as cardiac arrest, choking and respiratory distress. Participants received hands-on training in airway management, effective chest compressions and rescue breathing techniques, along with guidance on providing coordinated assistance until professional medical support becomes available.
