The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering organized a two-day Skill Development Training Program on “ARM Cortex-M3 LPC1768 Microcontroller” on 7th and 8th October 2025. The session was conducted by Dr. Ashraf Ahmed B., Senior Technical Head, Indian Institute of Embedded Systems, Bengaluru.
He commenced the training with an insightful overview of the ARM architecture and its relevance in modern embedded system design. He elaborated on the core features, instruction set and internal architecture of the LPC1768 microcontroller, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of its functional blocks and real-time applications.
The program included extensive hands-on training sessions, enabling students to explore programming and interfacing techniques using the ARM Cortex-M3 platform. Participants gained practical experience in developing and testing embedded C programs for various peripherals, effectively bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical implementation.
The training proved to be highly beneficial, enhancing participants competencies in embedded system design, microcontroller programming and hardware interfacing. It also served as a source of inspiration and motivation for students to pursue advanced research and career opportunities in the embedded systems and semiconductor industries.
